World War 1 Embroidered French Cushion Cover

Introduction

In addition to the embroidered French Postcards, Australians sent home embroidered French Cushion covers with decorative and seasonal themes.

We believe that this example was sent by Leo Thomas Smedley to 'Cissie' - Beryl Constance Smedley - the only girl in the family, who was one of the youngest of a very large family.

It is now held by Margaret Anne Wine, grand daughter of Beryl Constance Wine, nee Smedley.
